about the mhcp

Mission Statement

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for children and families by building community and strengthening relationships that support the health and wellbeing of the Mott Haven, Melrose, and Port Morris neighborhoods.

Vision Statement

A strong, connected community powered by healthy families and residents.

Value Statement

The Mott Haven Community Partnership Program believes in collaborating with the community to promote equality and personal development through education.

Priority Area Statement

The priority area is education, focusing on the postsecondary education and employment pathways component of the Two-Generation approach. We will make every effort to ensure that families are consistently engaged in meaningful opportunities to develop their literacy skills (e.g. computer, college prep, and ESL classes), and become familiar with or connected to better employment opportunities. The initial and core group will consist of 30 families, who will come from the relationships the Community Partnership has developed with four public schools in the Melrose and Mott Haven neighborhoods: PS 1, PS 5, PS 49, and

PS 359X.
