Currently serving as Director of the Mott Haven Partnership. Before this role, Dan has served as Community Organizer of the Mott Haven Community Partnership from June 2019 to January 2021. Prior to Dan's role as Community Organizer, he worked for CUNY Citizenship Now! the largest university legal free assistance program in the nation. In this role, Dan assisted LPR's by completing their N-400 naturalization form. In addition, in partnership with CM Levine D7 Dan assisted launching the Civic Exchange Initiative as the initiative Coordinator. Dan played an essential role in connecting the partnership to new community organizations, developing a social media presence, and connecting families in Mott Haven to needed resources during the pandemic. Some highlights of his leadership include supporting food pantries in partnership with MASA, St. Jerome HANDS Community Center, and the Mexican Coalition, coordinating the donation of over 2000 coats, supporting the launch of Mott Haven Fridge, a free walk-in pantry, and hosting Census knowledge-sharing events with the Census Bureau. In addition, Dan has partnered with city-wide agencies and community-based organizations to host knowledge-sharing sessions in the community via Zoom to inform residents of different practices and policies. He is fluent in Spanish and English. Whenever he's not working with the community or attending events, Dan enjoys outdoor activities and traveling.
Dan J. Montas Tran
Has served as Administrative Assistant of the Mott Haven Community Partnership since September 2019. Prior to Dennis's role as Administrative Assistant, he worked for Hallmark Aviation Service, JFK Airport as a Customer Service Agent. Dennis uses his passion for serving others and dedication in building relationships and engaging with others. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, Legon. Dennis currently assists the partnership with events implementation, coordinating presentations, outreach, and strategizing for different programming initiatives. Dennis has played an important role in implementing different community events to bring different resources to those in need of receiving resources. In addition, Dennis coordinates all partnership meetings with new organizations to ensure our organization is building capacity. When he is not working, Dennis enjoys spending time with family and friends, teaching dance routines, and lifting weights.
